Archery and Bowmaking Workshop
From 19ᵗʰ to 22ⁿᵈ May 2026
Among our hills, the echoes of the Middle Ages still resound, when hunters and soldiers, to survive hunger and battle, would draw their bows and shoot arrows at prey or foes. Today, at Reschio, we renounce the targets of the past but preserve the tradition of the longbow, brought to Italy by the English condottiero John Hawkwood in the 14th century. Over three days of workshops, from 12ᵗʰ to 22ⁿᵈ May 2026, the Master Bowyers of Florence will teach guests how to craft a longbow from a reed log and its arrows. The course will conclude with a tournament, where the winner will be awarded the bow they have built. All participants will take home an arrow
