The Reschio open-air theatre
The Reschio Open-Air Theatre is a cherished tradition. Each July, a stage is set in the garden of Casa Giuntarelli, where the Reschio Players, a troupe of travelling actors, perform their original play over three consecutive nights. Laughter and applause are guaranteed, and all proceeds are donated to the New Generation Foundation in Florence
In Honour of the Stage
Behind the summer laughter lies an extraordinary effort. For two intense weeks, the Reschio Players, a group of some 40 friends, family and kindred spirits, write, rehearse, choreograph, sew, paint and compose. Every costume is made in-house, each prop imagined and built on-site, songs rewritten and music composed anew. A full live band brings the performance to life under the stars. It is theatre in its purest, most joyful form, all in support of an art we hold dear. At Reschio, we believe in the power of theatre to connect, to move, and to remind us how to listen, to one another, to stories, and to the world around us
