30 Years Of Reschio’s Evolution

We love Reschio. It took my father almost ten years to work out how to acquire the entire abandoned Reschio estate whilst we lived in San Martino. May 1994 is etched in our minds as the date that the Bolza family became custodians of Reschio.

Then, the relentless hard work began. Reschio gradually evolved into the stunning territory that it is today. Neither farmers, nor developers – we learnt a great deal as we were determined to do the right thing for the neglected farmhouses, their hand-tilled fields and the wild lands that surrounded them.

More than 6,000 trees have been planted and today almost 70% of the estate is covered by forest while 100,000 shrubs have been integrated within hedgerows and landscaping. The encyclopaedic definition of an ecosystem has been achieved - a geographic area where fungi, plants and animals, as well as weather and landscape work together to form a natural balance of life.

The before and after images of the picturesque farmhouses that were scattered throughout the estate show the success of our gentle approach.

We love what has been achieved in these 30 years yet we love looking towards our future plans.
