The Elixirs from our Meadows

Amongst the myriad of wild flowers growing wild at Reschio are St. John’s Wort and the deliciously fragrant Elderflower. This year they have bloomed abundantly together. Gently macerated with olive oil, the yellow flowers of St. John’s Wort have been transformed into the red panacea, Olio di Iperico. This herbal remedy aids a myriad of physical ills, heal wounds and eases skin ailments; it will be part of the massage menu at our Bathhouse. Meanwhile, unceremoniously dunked in boiling water with lemon and sugar the Elderflower blossoms have become a delectable thirst quenching cordial.
