We Love Our Christmas Procession Band

We love our procession band especially on Christmas Eve, when everyone staying at Reschio follows behind, each with a candle torch, snaking down the road from the stables to the castle in a joyous ceremony. As we turn the last bend, a complete hush descends, just footsteps on the gravel. A Zampogna (a 15th century Italian bagpipe), pierces the misty silence. Then, we cross the threshold and the castle courtyard is filled with a welcoming glow – fires; candles in sconces and torchères; the Palm Court alight with an amber glow. Christmas mass in the decorated family chapel with a harmonious choir is simply enchanting.

After mass, gathered around the fire with festive drinks, we all exchange seasonal greetings with those staying in the Hotel Castello di Reschio, house owners and house guests - it is a wonderful tradition. We love the peace and magic of Christmas and wish you and your family a bewitched holiday.
