We Love Our Reschio Players

Each July, something rather magical happens in the garden of Casa Giuntarelli, a stage appears, and the Reschio Open-Air Theatre comes to life. What began as a family tradition has grown into a much-anticipated annual event, a heart-filled spectacle staged under the stars.

In just two whirlwind weeks, an extraordinary amount of creative mayhem unfolds, everything from the costumes and choreography to the set-designs and musical arrangements are especially created. All of it brought to life by the spirited Reschio Players, a ragtag troupe of all ages and abilities, with a few professionals keeping the whole thing on track.

This year’s production is a comedic and lyrical romp taking place within the rampart walls of the Reschio Hotel and its mysterious woodland, blending fantasy with familiar faces, and uniting Reschiani of the past with those of the present in a delightfully mischievous tale.

There is laughter, there is music, there is the odd scene-stealing goose, and, naturally, drinks are served at dusk.

Three unforgettable nights, with all proceeds going to the Fondazione Mascarade in Florence, supporting young opera talent as they take their first steps onto the world’s great stages.
