A long-standing Bolza family tradition, the summer theatre takes place in the courtyard of their home. In just two weeks, the Reschio Players, a group of family and friends who reunite each year, write the script, design the costumes, arrange the music for a live orchestra, rehearse dance numbers, and create all the props and scenery. A stage is built from scratch, complete with arch, curtains, lighting and sound. The result is a three-night show: part satire, part spectacle, often poking fun at life in and around the Reschio Hotel and those who may have lived in the castle centuries ago. Mostly home-grown talent, with the occasional professional, it is a performance full of spirit and never the same. All the proceeds are donated to the New Generation Foundation in Florence, supporting young opera artists at the start of their careers
