A short walk from the Castle walls, the Church of San Michele stands among the trees. It has retained a sense of stillness and seclusion. At dawn and dusk, its stone takes on a soft pink hue, drawing attention to the simple form of the chapel and its single, spacious nave.

Today, San Michele hosts some of the experiences offered by the Bathhouse Beyond the Walls. Experimental treatments such as The Apotheosis of San Michele and The Gates of the Body take place here, with the quiet, natural light and proportions of the building becoming part of each session. Removed from the familiar setting of a treatment room, these practices invite greater concentration and awareness of the body.

The church also welcomes yoga and Pilates classes. Mats are arranged along the nave, where movement, breathing and balance are practised in an atmosphere far removed from a conventional studio. The sessions can be adapted to the needs and experience of those taking part, while the simplicity of the space helps to keep attention focused.

San Michele is more than a setting for these activities.
