A few years ago, the Bolza family purchased a spiral staircase, drawn to it for reasons they could not quite explain. For a long time, it rested in a hidden corner of the estate, patiently waiting for its purpose to reveal itself. It was never forgotten, lingering there, as in a hidden corner of the family’s consciousness, until recently, when it finally emerged as the heart of an exciting new project at Reschio.

This project is the Chocolate Box Theatre: a two-tiered decorative stage built around that very staircase. Adjoining Ristorante Alle Scuderie, it will offer guests a feast for the senses: the perfect companion to the restaurant’s gastronomic delights. Aptly named not only for its appearance but also for the rich assortment of treats it will hold, the theatre will host everything from plays and poetry readings to concerts and talks. It will also give a stage to the talented scholars of the Reschio Music Scholarship, one of our most cherished creative initiatives.

Indeed, it is intended to be a space where stories, music, and performance come together to reshape perception and leave every visitor changed, even if only for a moment. A small world of wonder, allowing the ordinary to be transformed into the extraordinary, and where anyone who enters might rediscover the childlike capacity to be astonished, moved, and truly transformed. Who could have imagined that a simple staircase might become the vehicle through which something so magical would unfold?
