We Love Our Household Habits

We love to have a modicum of discipline with our Household Habits and most weekday mornings an expert arranges the tools of their craft in either the Boot Room or the Old Stables. Guests can participate and learn new skills. This creative contemplation is very relaxing. While minds concentrate fully on the task, hands tame wayward wild flowers into a pleasing composition, fingers ease threads into stunning floral embroidery or, the dedicated, roll back their sleeves to marble paper in the Florentine style. Guests can join a foraging walk and be fully immersed in nature, gathering a variety of berries, leaves and roots.

A witches’ brew is boiled in the cauldron and soon, incredible colours emerge, such as a gentle sage green from the harsh, hard black ivy berries or a mesmerising yellow from solidago known as goldenrod.

There is always the chatter of Household news and an opportunity to deepen friendships.
